Dillon Bay by Gordon Bok & Friends

DOJO

Dillon Bay opens the song section of dojo, following vocal warm ups and the opening chant. The dojo always begins with this song and ends with Well May the World Go, to cap songs in between that teach how to listen, sing and play in folk ensemble on the spot. The regulated rhythm of this lullaby soothes babes to sleep with the pull of the tide, back and forth, like soft waves against the sides of a boat, easy does it. The salty images delight and calm the senses throughout its gentle 4/4 time.
This is a good song, a simple melody repeated in verse and chorus - easy to learn and lots of room for harmony. We first sing the chorus twice and after every verse and give it an a capella ending.  Join us with your instrument in the key of G.
