Lay Down Your Weary Tune
Bob Dylan

This lovely early Dylan song was sung at the Tunes in the Dunes Uke Camp 2016 open mic. Harmony filled the room and it fits well here as a song to learn to sing as a group. We're told that Dylan wrote this song on a visit to the Baez family in 1963, humbled and awed by the beauty of the natural world surrounding him and expressed so eloquently here in the verses and chorus.
When the journey is over and the day is done, sing me home with this song. Lay down your weary tune, lay down. Lay down the song you strum And rest yourself 'neath the strength of strings No voice can hope to hum |
