The interplay between Kate & Steve's guitars builds the soundscape for this story from the Civil War with a song that could have been written today.
Paddy's Lament dates back to when Irish immigrants crossed the Atlantic to America - leaving everything to find their fortune. Many disembarked from one ship at point of entry in northeastern ports only to be handed a rifle and assigned to board another ship "to fight for Lincoln". The loss, suffering, confusion and demise of the immigrant's dream echoes darkly in this song.
