A rich memory in the life of music in Portland, Oregon, found and fanned in the restoration of the 1983 recording, Wildgeese: Celtic Music of the Northwest, produced by Mícheál Ó Dohmnaill and originally engineered by Michael O’Rourke, Grass Roots studio. Band members of Wildgeese are Kate Power, Jim Chapman, Bill Bulick, Barry Crannell & Randal Bays, members of Portland's folk music scene's institutional history galvanized Portland's place as one of the earliest and finest Irish sessions in the folk-club session scene, and triggered an ecstatic period of music and dance in a deep community of avid enthusiasts in Portland, Oregon. The music scene birthed in the 1980's remains intact and vital in Portland to this day,
